The Anderson shelter cake.

Today was a nice peaceful productive day and I'd arranged with Ruby to make a cake in the shape of an Anderson shelter for her homework, so the cadburys fingers, , almonds ( look like sandbags)desiccated coconut were bought.
I found the ideal Picture as a pattern so when she got home we baked a flat chocolate cake and a green coloured sponge in a loaf tin.
We combined the two. We used icing to stick the cadburys fingers to look like corrugated iron, we did the same with the almonds to look like sand bags.we finished it off with green coconut as grass and brown coconut for mud .
It was all ready to take to school this morning when I remembered a child in her class has severe nut allergies. We took it covered in lots of cling film straight to her teacher. It was such a shame, I had to bring it straight home before her friends could see it. I sent some photos via email so the teacher could show everyone.
So I've invited all the family round for tea and cake after school so she can show it off, well done Ruby x
